Jaqueline Cabrera

I would like to congratulate introduce you to A senior, Jaqueline Cabrera, of the graduating class of 2020 of everglades High School. Due to the unfortunate circumstances caused by the pandemic of covid-19, her class of 2020 “walking across the stage” moment has been delayed. She has been nominated by her peers to share her Story. Lets wish her well on her future endeavors.

Q: Where do you go to school? A: Evergaldes High School
Q: Please tell us about your current plans after high school. And what inspired you to choose this path? A: The plan I have chose to take after high school is that I am going to study to get my Bachelors in biology and then go on to medical school to become a pediatrician. What inspired me to choose this path is that I have always wanted to help people whenever they are sick and also being always surrounded by people in the medical field, it has always pushed me to want to help people.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family. Where are you from? A: My parents were both born in Cuba and they came to this country with absolutely nothing. After growing up in this country they were able to get an education and have sacrificed so much for me and my two siblings.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community? A: Some restaurants I enjoy in our community are litchi which is a boba tea cafe, as well as a small Italian restaurant called La famiglia located at Miramar town center.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community? A: My Mother
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why? A: California Since I’ve always wanted to go there.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows? What show are you binge watching right now? A: The show “YOU” on Netflix
Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher? A: The best advice I’ve ever received from a teacher was that I should always study something that I love because you never want to be stuck in a career you don’t like. That teacher was my photography teacher Mrs.Alvarez.
Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to? A: BTS
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch? A: I would probably meet Ariana Grande because I absolutely love her music and style and we would probably meet at a nice restaurant like Cheesecake Factory for lunch.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community? A: Something unique about living in Miramar is that there are so many different ethnicities and cultures all in one area.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years? A: Working in a hospital and becoming a doctor.
Q: Favorite month? holiday? and best single day on the calendar? A: June
Q: Who inspires you to be better? A: My mother inspires me to do better because she has sacrificed so much in her life for me and it just motivates me to be a better person and to become the best version of myself that I can be.
Q: If you could go back over your entire school career what is one thing you would do different? A: I would never have taken so many AP classes and stressed so much about school because then I would have been able to have enjoy my high school years more before having it ripped away from me in such a short time.
Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now? A: I miss all of my classmates and teachers that I never got to say goodbye to before everything happened due to the Coronavirus.
Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over? A: Go back to my school and say goodbye to all of the teachers I never got to say goodbye to. As well as visit my friends that I haven’t been able to see since this all happened.
