Mashaal Abid

I would like to congratulate introduce you to A senior, Mashaal I. Abid, of the graduating class of 2020 of everglades High School. Due to the unfortunate circumstances caused by the pandemic of covid-19, her class of 2020 “walking across the stage” moment has been delayed. She has been nominated by her peers to share her Story. Lets wish her well on her future endeavors.

Q: Where do you go to school? A:Everglades High School
Q: Please tell us about your current plans after high school. And what inspired you to choose this path? A: My current plans after high school are to attend Nova Southeastern University (Go Sharks!) to study biology. After that, I want to go to medical school in hopes of becoming a pediatrician.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family. Where Are you from? A: I come from a family of Five. I am the Middle child. I have a brother who is older than me, who also graduated fro Everglades high school with seven cords and I have a younger sister who will be starting Glades middle school. My family always support me and are there for me. They never fail to make me proud. We are all from Pakistan.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community? A: The Pita shop, Chili’s , China One
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why? A: If I could travel anywhere in the world it would be Dubai because I heard that it is very beautiful there and I want to see the famous Burj Khalifa.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows? What show are you binge watching right now? A: One of my favorite TV shows is Gossip girl because it is relatable and is interesting to see life in the Upper East Side of New York. My favorite movie is White Chicks because it never fails to make me laugh.
Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to A: My go to band to listen to is BTS because they give a positive message through their music and never fail to make me smile on a bad day.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch? A: If I could have lunch with anyone dead or alive it would be RM of BTS because he inspires me to work hard. Nam Joon (known as RM) he worked for a very small company in Korea and is now in the biggest boy band in the world. We would have lunch in a nice restaurant called Chili’s because it has good food and even better desert.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years? A: In 5-10 years I see myself in medical school on my way to become a pediatrician.
Q: Favorite month? holiday? and best single day on the calendar? My favorite month is December because the weather is nice and it is the prettiest time of year. My favorite holiday is Eid ( celebrating the end of Ramadan of the Islamic calendar )because it is like Christmas.
Q: Who inspires you to be better? A: My parents inspire me to be better because they are always motivating me and tell me that I can literally be whatever I want in life if I just put my mind to it.
Q: If you could go back over your entire school career what is one thing you would do different? A: If I could go back to my entire school career I would go back to Freshman year and join more clubs and try to do even better in some of my classes.
Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now? A: I miss my best friend Jackie the most  because she always makes me laugh and is like a sister to me.
Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over? A: The first thing I want to do when quarantine is over is to hang out with my friends because they make me happy and it’s been a minute since I have seen them.
