Ruben Hernandez

Ruben Hernandez, Managing Broker and owner of Brokers Choice Realty, a local real estate firm. Born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico; Mr Hernandez has called Miramar home and raised his family here for over the past 16 years. He is a very hardworking, honest and a caring member of our community. To wind down, He enjoys working around the house and playing racquetball whenever he gets a chance.

When asked what advice would you give to a crowd of people, he said “to live life full of passion, love & family. Accumulation of wealth and business successes in life are meaningless without someone to love and share with”.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Miramar? A: I love that in Miramar there is a strong sense of pride of ownership by its residents. The city looks good and is well kept by all that live here. I also love the easy access to Miami and Ft Lauderdale. Love it here.
Q: What Inspired you or led you to your current career? A: Buying a home is likely the single most important and largest transaction most people do in their lives. Being able to facilitate the American dream of homing ownership is very inspiring to me.
Q: What is your Favorite Restaurant in Miramar, and what do you Love there? A: La Carretta. Love the consistently good Latin food and the amazing Cuban coffee and pastelitos.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you have met here in Miramar? A: A former neighbor, Loretta McNeir. Loretta is a great friend and former official with TSA. She had multiple US government assignments around the world. I found it fascinating to learn about the different places she visited. It’s been an honor to call her my friend.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why? A: I would love to travel to New England to catch the October foliage. The fall colors, pumpkins and pine cones are amazing. All this with the cool temperatures make it fun.
Q: What is the first movie you remember seeing in the theater? A: The First movie I remember seeing The Towering Inferno. (1974). For some reason I watched it like six times. Back in the day, as kids, we would stay inside the movie and see the movie over and over.
Q: What is something on your bucket list? A: To travel to Europe with my family and visit ancestral places in Spain. And to learn more of that culture, people and foods.
Q: What is your favorite music? Who are you favorite Artist? A: It depends how I’m feeling at any given day I may have different favorites. I love all sorts of music. Music is so awesome. From the oldies I like everything Frankie Vallie. From the 70’s rock I love Boston and the Eagles Hotel California. Also, Elton John. For Latin music I love Juan Luis Guerra. And more recently I have new found appreciation for Lady Gaga after her recent movie with Bradley Cooper.
Q: What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME? A: My wife, my kids, my pets. Wherever they are, I’m home.
Q: If you had a full-time staff Member that was fully paid for, who would you choose? Chef, Housekeeper, driver, Coach, Trainer or Nanny? A: I would probably choose a housekeeper to free up some time for me and my wife. My wife is a true champ around the house. I admire her but often wish she had more help than just
